Took Freyja and Thomas for a long country walk yesterday - collecting autumn leaves, conkers and other seasonal treasures. We saw lizards, black squirrels and herons, there were wild flowers everywhere and the sound of cowbells in the distance. Lovely... until we took the wrong path into the woods, unwittingly ending up on someone´s private property and being chased off back through the trees by some guard dogs. Pretty scarey.
Today we went to Italy for Sunday lunch, as you do! Drove to France and through the Mont Blanc tunnel to a town called Aosta for pasta and gelati. Then it was home again via the scenic route through alpine villages, the shuttered houses still with summer flowers spilling over their balconies.
