For those of you who were hoping to visit us in Iceland before the shock announcement about us moving to Switzerland for 3 years, don´t give it up! I fully intend to spend summer in Seyðisfjörður every year when Europe is at its most hot and crowded so I´ll see you there as planned as long as you´re coming in July or August! (Keep a seat for me at Aldan stelpur...)Meanwhile, in case you weren´t watching the Icelandic 10 0´clock news yesterday, you´ll have missed out on Jói´s 15 seconds of fame. On Tuesday he and his merry men (and women and dogs) found nearly 200 kilos of drugs on a single passenger on the ferry - the largest ever seizure in Iceland found in a routine search. It was the top news story and Jói was interviewed outside the ferry terminal, visibly straining to keep the corners of his mouth from turning up. Talk about going out on a high note!
