Just got back to Exeter after our trip back to Iceland for the half-term holidays -hello to you if you´re one of the people we caught up with! The highlight was Bárður´s confirmation last Sunday. I spent a lot of time driving around taking interviews with teachers for my research project, whilst Thomas visited his old playschool and Freyja caught up with her friends, and now I have to knuckle down and write it all up as my final dissertation. Bizarrely, the day after we left for Iceland there was an attempted terrorist attack in the centre of Exeter, and the day before we left Seyisfjörður for Reykjavik there was an earthquake of 6.3 in the south of Iceland. This seems to be the effect we have on the world. But the biggest news story of the month, which also evolved during our trip, was that Jói got himself a new job working for EFTA (European Free Trade Association) in Geneva! He starts on September 1st, so instead of moving back to Iceland in August we will now be moving to Switzerland instead!
